REPORT OF BARCELONA PRACTICAL COURSE (Riccardo Luchetti)
The course of arthroscopy and open surgery of Barcelona has been immense!
Some main topics were treated. After the presentation and arthroscopic
anatomic by Llusa with teaching of wrist portals by Slutsky we treated the
TFCC tears: open surgery was treated by Luchetti and arthroscopic surgery by
Atzei. All the morning was used fot this patology. Partecipants were divided
in two groups and in turn both were involved in the open and arthroscopic
surgery. In the afternoon we presented the surgery of the distal radius
fractures by volar and dorsal plates using the Aptus. All the partecipants
were involved contemporary. Slutsky was great in teaching the manouver for
the 1st CMC joint and STT joint arthroscopy. Saturday Garcia-Elias teached
the treatment of SL lesion by open surgery and del Pinal the arthroscopic
treatment of distal radius fractures. Interesting was the behaviour of the
partecipants when the teachers worked on the speciments: all of them stayed
around the table covering the teacher (fantastic vision !) If we can use a
specific phrases of this we can say: a moment of glory!
